Your transformation is essential to the emergence of a new paradigm of human existence.

You are part of a collective body, and that body is sick. Your task as a cell in this collective body is to become as holistically well as possible.

That means attending to your physical wellbeing, your emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing.

As you become more whole and more grounded, so the world you interactive with and touch changes, through your vibrational effect.

Literally we change the world one cell, one person, at a time.

First find out who you are, then impact the world from that embodied wisdom.

This podcast touches the roots of what it means to transform oneself from fragmented to whole.

It is another passionate call to everyone to awaken from the dream and do whatever it takes to become balanced and powerful, loving and compassionate, yet full of authentic action when needed.

Innocence and Trust in Your Life.

I am not going to write a long blog post today. I am going to save up the depth of this subject for a podcast I am hoping to do towards the end of the week. I haven’t recorded a podcast for several months due to travelling and illness (and some reluctance) and have been waiting to see if there is a subject I can get my teeth into, something that might really inspire me.

And I may have landed on it. So I’m going to share a little teaser with you to see if it interested you. It is a big subject, but I will dive in anyway.

6359514014498518351990561192_adam-and-eve-expelledIt goes like this. In recent months and years, I have seen in my own life how what I call my ‘fall from the innocence of childhood,’ has shaped and affected the whole of my adult life. When I say shaped and affected it I mean on every level, from my personal relationships to my work, to my very basic relationship with the world itself, authority, power, women, and to my health and lifestyle.
When I drill down into my life I can see how this ‘fall,’ changed everything about my life and I have been trying to heal it ever since.

NOW, here is where this mysterious phrase ‘fall from the innocence of childhood,’ gets interesting. And don’t worry, I will explain what it means soon.
But in recent months of coaching clients, and talking with many people, I have been able to see that it is not just me that has experienced the impact of this ‘fall,’ but many many others. In fact my experience has led me to surmise that most regular people have experienced a ‘fall,’ to some degree or other. It is the majority experience, and endemic in society. In other words, it is everywhere.

Where there is chronic illness, there is usually a ‘fall from innocence,’ and some childhood trauma.
Where there is chronic relationship trouble, there is always some kind of ‘fall from innocence.’
Where there is addiction there is, almost always, a ‘fall from innocence.’
Where there are self worth issues, there is always some loss of innocence.

So let me explain what I mean by this ‘fall from innocence.’

We are all born innocent. We have to be, we arrive from the unknown, cannot talk or express ourselves, in fact we are just a blob of innocent potential. There are, of course, certain intrinsic (and potential) things that lie within us. There are familial traits and certain genetic tendencies, there are (if you believe this) karmic influences from previous lives, and there are the astrological influences that may affect us through our lives. But most of us, mostly, are pretty darn innocent when we arrive.

What does this innocence mean?
It means we trust the outside world implicitly, because we do not see a difference between ourselves and the outside, it is all one thing. We love without condition, because unconditional love is the main attribute of innocence. Our little bodies flow with goodness, we are light and fluid and free. There are no traumas held captive in the body temple. Our lives are, literally, innocence incarnate. It may be hard to imagine.

What does the loss of innocence mean, and how does it happen?
The loss of innocence, or the fall, as I call it, is a different, and unique, experience, for each of us. And yet it is also the same for us all. In fact, it is that very experience that defines the rest of our lives. This loss will usually happen by way of the family, and usually by one or both of the parents. It doesn’t always, and can sometimes come from elsewhere, but it has the same impact. It is what leads us to begin what we call ‘our story.’ It is our own unique blueprint. It is how we come to experience the world.
From innocence and openness we learn sometimes harsh lessons and we close down and tighten up. We can become fearful and mistrusting. We can become traumatised and angry.
Some people never get over it. Some may experience this ‘fall’ very harshly at the hands of an abuser. The depth of trauma and wound felt can be buried so deep, and leave such wounding, it may never be healed, or even touched.

It is to this I want to talk. It is so important to heal this innocence. Even if it hurts so much it makes us feel like death itself has arrived, it is worth a mine full of jewels to heal and grow into wisdom and power. To stay in bitterness, anger, trauma and the ‘fall’ mentality, means being stuck in the place and time of the wounding and trauma. You remain trapped.

Loss of innocence is natural, and ok.

It is the root of WISDOM and self knowledge. It is only our unawareness, and our feeling that the loss is the worst thing that happened to us, that keeps us enslaved by it. We remain trapped by it because we don’t understand it is our spiritual job to transform it to wisdom and self knowledge, thereby becoming masters of our lives and helping others do the same thing.

The Mythological Aspect.
This ‘fall’ from innocence is both a real event in our lives AND a mythological event that defines what it is to be human. It is as though each of us, as we descend from heaven, or from eternal consciousness, must fall into our humanity, we are like fallen angels. And the wounds we carry are actually our gifts. They define us as our unique selves, they become our blueprint. This ‘fall from innocence’ sets up our human journey from innocence lost, to being lost in the wilderness and playing out our wounds, to beginning to ‘see the light’ and then our search for truth, and to our maturity and healing, before we return to heaven, or consciousness.
We are, in fact, mythic adventurers.

EMBRACE YOUR FALL.
I think you can begin to see by now what I’m getting at. I am really saying that, even though it may hurt and be very difficult, it is our task to embrace our wounds, our ‘fall,’ and heal ourselves by letting it go.
I am saying our ‘fall from innocence,’ is a doorway to maturity and wisdom. It involves such deep transformation that it can change you fundamentally on every level.
It can impact your health, your nervous system, your immune system and your brain health.
It has the potential to radically improve your relationships, all of them.
It can change how you see the rest of your life.
And it can change what you do with your life.

If you keep denying your fall, or simply cannot bring yourself to accept it, or heal it in someway, I’m sorry to say that it will rule your life for the rest of your days. It may impact your health, it may already have done. It will interfere with relationships, and it may already have done. It will prevent true happiness, ease, maturity, love and wisdom from flowing.

That is the power of this ‘fall from innocence.’

I hope it has given you some food for thought. If you have anything to comment, or you completely disagree with me, or you want to add something, or you have a question, please don’t hesitate to add a comment.

And I will notify you on this blog when the podcast is ready…Im looking forward to expanding this topic, I do believe it is so very important.

Thanks for reading!

STRESS and its effect on the body systems – My Personal Revelation!

I am going to share something with you today. And its going to be about stress. And its dramatic effect on the body when it is allowed to run rampant and un-dealt with.

I would like to say this is difficult for me to admit to, but quite honestly if it serves you or anyone else I feel that my experience will not have been in vain. So please, share this post if you know someone who may benefit from it.

Some of you may know I am now in America with my beautiful wife, author and teacher Amoda Maa Jeevan. We have been here for over two weeks, in California. It has been a long and, at times, very difficult journey to get here. We are here on a long visa as it is our intention to live here long term. We left here in December 2015, and from then till now we have been nomadic, homeless, moving around, AND Amoda has been applying for the visa AND writing her new book. Both of those things have been seriously hard core tasks, but to achieve them successfully over our days, weeks and months of nomadic, erratic living, was a massive undertaking. She is an amazing human being!

IMG_3519Here is the confession. I have carried the experience, the ups and downs, the challenges, stresses, fears and difficulties not so well. My body tells the story of my life. Since the days of my Ulcerative Colitis, auto immune issue, I have had a very sensitive relationship with my physical body. It reveals everything to me, and mirrors all my emotional and mental turbulence and anxiety. I cannot hide it from my body. Some people can, they just don’t feel it in their body. I DO! You might as well, some folks do and thats a gift and a burden.

Have I shared with you about my ongoing rash this year? Oh it has been dreadful, and very very full on. Whole body rash, skin flaking, swollen arms, welts, inflammation, the whole works. It has been thought of, at various times, as urticaria, psoriasis, fungus, bacterial infection, mercury poisoning, tropical infection, and so on. Yet it has been elusive.

Since we got here I have seen a doctor, who has taken blood and I get results next week.

HERE IS THE REASON FOR THIS BLOG.

I got a referral to a Dermatologist, who I saw yesterday. I stripped down and showed him my skin, he prodded and peered, asked a load of questions and then I expected him to agree with the doctor that it was ring worm and fungal infection.

NO.’ He said, “It’s not any of that.”

“It looks like it has multiple causes that have arisen as this rash, certainly your immune system is a big factor as it is still (and forever will be) damaged with the auto immune you have carried. But the other factor is STRESS.

STRESS!!! Not just Stress!

And it really struck me in that moment how powerful STRESS, ANXIETY AND FEAR are on the physical body systems.

Immune system and nervous system, they are the two main systems that are affected by mind and emotions. And they impact every area of health. If you are one of those people who feel it all in their bodies, you have a gift and a burden. The gift is all your mental and emotional burdens, stresses and traumas are revealed to you dramatically and viscerally, and thats your invitation to deal with them consciously. The burden is that it hurts and you can get away with nothing. It gets tiring having a sensitive body.

It gets REAL TIRING! My answer is surrender and acceptance and a refusal to medicate unless I absolutely bottom line have to, and settle for nothing, never accept a diagnosis unless it feels 100% spot on, and ALWAYS LOOK FOR THE MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL COMPONENT.

kavi-arms

Taken two days ago – I am getting better, the rash is clearing!

You see, we all want these problems to be caused by something outside ourselves. That makes it easier to deal with. I have dealt with so much over the years, I mean I cannot begin to tell you what I have dealt with, emotionally, mentally, spiritually and physically, WOW! And I guess I thought I had reached some kind of level where I was beyond it.
But this last year I admit I have felt the fears in my body, I have felt the anxiety about the future in my body.
I have felt the sudden pit of fear in my body.
I have felt the fateful feeling of foreboding in my body.
I have felt deep feelings of ancient abandonment in my body, and I have felt childhood traumas and existential troubles in my body.

Never, never, never underestimate the power of the mind over the body. Body will ultimately surrender to mind, thats the bottom line. Mind is, to a certain extent, more powerful than the body, until the body dies.

And I have learned that this is my life’s lesson. I am here to learn how to relax fully regardless of outer circumstance, regardless of what is happening. I am here to learn to be ok with life AS IT IS. That is a life path.

So we each need to find our life’s lesson. It’s all about our spiritual/existential/soul/karma and how it manifests. What are we here to learn?

What are you here to learn? If you have an issue with the physical form, if any of what I’ve said resonates with you, look inside, investigate and inquire.

It helps to know, it brings some relief to one’s personal suffering and gives a greater context for any illness.

HOLISTIC LOGIC and the Map of Your Life

YOUR BODY IS A MAP OF YOUR LIFE.

0bc4fc1e64b4d5863aa12349a1dc1a95The body is a map. It tells you things. It shows you what is going on. And before you say, duh! isn’t that obvious, please understand I don’t mean simply the physical.  I don’t mean the body tells you whats wrong in the body, although it does that as well.
I mean the body is a map of the mind, the emotions and the psyche.
The body is it. It is our interface with this dimension of reality.
Think about it for a minute. If it weren’t for your body, and the senses you have been gifted to experience it, what would be happening?
On the level of life, nothing at all would be happening. You would not exist.

Everything that happens, happens through the body and the senses. It has to or there is nothing.
Consciousness exists prior to and after the body.

The body is a vast and complex thing. We insult it by treating it so neglectfully, and we diminish it by making it toxic and sick.

And the body itself, its twists and turns, its aches and pains, its redness, rashes, blemishes, illnesses, tells us about the consciousness and life of the person.

We just don’t know how to read the map of the body.

If we did it would be extraordinary.
And I believe we can.
We start by understanding that the body is a map.

And then we ask, ‘What might it be saying?’
And then we begin to open to intuition, hunches, messages, and all the time using logic and science to investigate the purely physical level of existence. Thats what its good for, the physical.

We develop INNER WISDOM.

I call this Holistic Logic – It is the ultimate in body centred, spiritually based, inquiry into the nature of being human.

I find it astonishing when people still think of illness, symptoms, wellbeing and anything body related, as purely physical.
We are extraordinary beings caught in a matrix that attempts to limit us. By allowing ourselves to feel and live in limited ways we become dull and lifeless.
We are born, each of us, to magnificence. It is written in our coding that we have great potential. We accept limitation but it doesn’t serve us. And it makes us ill.
I am trying to awaken your inner wisdom. Become a body map reader. You are the best possible person to understand your own nature. But you must tune in on a deeper level.

What I do is not just about health. It’s about YOUR LIFE! It’s about your power, your wisdom, your work, service and job. It’s about your relationships, your family, your morality, and about the point of your existence.

Immune System 101 – Relationship to the World – Read This If You Have Chronic Dis-ease

body defense

The immune system that lies at the heart of your physical protection from predators, viruses and external danger, is not just some isolated physical entity that exists separate to what you think and feel. If only that were true it would be a damn sight easier to heal it and optimise its function.

But immune system is complex, subtle and even mysterious. That is my personal experience and the experience of countless clients.

What I am going to discuss here is something of what the immune system represents for us as human beings. My position on this is that the immune system represents our relationship with the outside world, or what we imagine is the outside world. In many ways the word represents is misleading, because it implies it doesn’t have any influence or power.

But here is the thing:
The body, which means the gut and the immune system included, cannot tell the difference between what is ‘real’ and what is imagined. It responds to the intensity and power of the thought and feeling, and that should give us pause for thought and care.

What this means, in effect, is that how we are in our relationship to the outside world, or what we think of as the outside world, or life itself, can be hugely influential on the integrity and power of our immune system. And it cannot be fooled by positive thinking or just being happy go lucky.

All this is compounded and intensified for those who have reached a point of ‘chronic dis-ease.’ Once chronic dis-ease symptoms have manifested to the point where they need serious attention and radical lifestyle change, the immune system is way down the road of under or over activity.

Think of it like an army that has been assaulted over and over and over again. It has become ragged and chaotic. It may be demoralised, but it may also be trigger happy, firing at anything it believes to be a threat, and that could be friend or foe. It can no longer discern itself from the outside world it is so confused.
Or else it is just beaten down and no longer cares much what happens. Maybe it will struggle to send some troops to fight off yet another army that appears to be invading the inner sanctum of the body, but the army is ineffective and easily disarmed and overcome.

The first one may be ‘auto immune’ dis-ease, and the second one the body surrendering itself to infection and illness, unable to fight it off.

Remember, I am talking almost metaphorically and symbolically here. You don’t have to take it literally. Just allow this to become a contemplation or meditation.

My experience has shown me that almost all people who are have some kind of chronic condition need to understand just how two-way the mind/emotion and immune system relationship is.

Our relationship with what appears to us as the outside world is fundamental to our wellbeing. The outside world is our environment. And just to be clear, I don’t just mean the town, city or country we live in, but it can also include that. I mean the world itself. OK I will get more detailed.

Are we scared of the world? Is that relationship fearful? How does the world make us feel about ourselves? Good? Bad? Ashamed? Guilty? Does our experience and perception of the world create lack of confidence or trust? Do we trust ourselves and/or others in the world? Is the world a scary or benevolent place? Does the world just make us tired and beat us down over and over?

All of those possibilities will be felt and ‘lived out’ by the immune system. It is responsive and is focused on maintaining the integrity of the organism, you. So if it feels and senses fear of the outside world, off goes the alarm, which engages the army (even though it may be depleted and tired) to be on high alert for danger and invasion.
Or if it senses and feels lack of self worth and shame it grows weary and flattens, sensing a lack of life force or ‘chi.’

Backwards and forwards the pendulum between the body and the mind swings, until you cannot tell what is what.

If you accept some of what I am saying, in essence that there is a relationship between your immune system response to the outside world and your mind/emotions and your relationship to the outside world, and you are one who is impacted by chronic dis-ease, then we have to take one step further and ask the fundamental question about healing.

Does healing our mental and emotional relationship with the (apparent) outside world have an impact on our immune system, and conversely, does healing our physical immune system, which means resolving leaky gut, gut dysbiosis and inflammation in digestive system, affect and heal our mental and emotional relationship to the world?

Very interesting questions! Obviously there is no conclusive yes/no answer. BUT, there is supposition and experience.
My own experience, and seeing all this play out in other people, is that while it is impossible to speak of scientific ’cause and effect’ relationship, we can speak of subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) influence.
I have seen people get everything right physically but not attended to their fears and anxieties about their relationship to the world, and they have been locked in a cycle that goes round and round.

meditationMy own personal experience is of a synchronous healing. What do I mean by synchronous healing?
I mean that everything is connected to everything else with no distinction. That means that when there is a commitment to healing, or you have decided to meet chronic dis-ease fully, there must be no stone left unturned, and no clear distinction between physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. They are all one thing, an energy system. One area of focus takes you to another area that needs attention, and that takes you somewhere else, and you follow the scent and the prompting.

It means honouring the whole holistic system. And that means thinking of a chronic dis-ease as a whole holistic experience. We must steer away from trying to think in isolated ways and move forward to an advanced holistic approach. You are a dynamic system, highly complex and interwoven. Mind, spirit, emotions, immune system, gut health, cells and microbes, and everything in between, all working as one thing to enable life to exist and flourish.

It is profound, and when this awareness is believed and lived as truth, it is natural to understand that life is microcosmic. Everything is a microcosm of everything else, and ‘as above, so below.

Returning to the healing question. Healing chronic dis-ease is a calling to attend to all areas of life. Your psychic, mental and emotional relationship with the world is not an area of minor significance. It is a deeply felt and experienced metaphor of your own immune system. Thought and form are hardwired together.

My suggestion is thus:
Get to work on healing the gut.
Get to work on contemplating your relationship to the world.
Get to work unravelling, in the way you are called, old and toxic emotions and beliefs that create your relationship to the world.
Make necessary lifestyle changes that include more real, natural, raw and healthful foods.
Get the body and lymph system moving through exercise.
Meditate on your inner truth everyday.
Find peace, within and without.

Thank you so much for reading, I hope this blog has given you something to chew over.

If I can help at all, please contact me, or comment below, I will gladly answer any questions if I can.

Strangely Coincidental Spontaneous Remission – Or Actual Healing?

In recent years I have dropped much of the anger at doctors I used to carry. It wasn’t healthy and there was probably a lot of projection involved. I also started to see deeper into the whole medical, science based paradigm, saw its huge benefits to mankind, and also saw how we are all trapped by something. So I became more understanding of the position doctors are in and how they are dictated to by the system that educated and trained them. I saw the bigger picture and stopped focusing so much on individuals.
It is the system that is the problem, not the individuals.

BUT. There is something that gets my goat, as the saying goes. And that is arrogance and dismissiveness. I don’t like it in any walk of life, on Facebook, in the bar, in the bank, politics or anywhere. But when it is in the area of health it stirs me up and brings out the radical feisty rebel in me, and I have tendency to rise up and speak my mind.

I have just been reminded of this after reading an article by Dr Mark Hyman about healing auto immune conditions.
He talked of being in a group discussion with a conventional doctor, a rheumatologist, and one of his patients who was cured of a complex autoimmune disease by addressing the causes.

What he said was this, and I quote, ‘When my patient described how he cured his autoimmune disease by finding and eliminating the causes of inflammation in his diet and environment, it was dismissed as a “spontaneous remission.” In the face of a paradigm-shattering medical case, these doctors were hardly curious and quickly dismissive, describing what was shared as anecdotal.’
http://drhyman.com/blog/2010/07/30/how-to-stop-attacking-yourself-9-steps-to-heal-autoimmune-disease/

That makes me pretty mad I have to say, for many reasons. One of them is because they are talking about me! If you read yesterday’s blog, and I urge you to do so, you will read that I talk about healing my IBD completely.
https://acidtoalkalineliving.wordpress.com/2016/07/27/where-is-my-colitis-now-gone-no-symptoms-at-all/

So what I am reading is these ‘professionals’ dismiss my healing as ‘spontaneous remission,’ and any proof as anecdotal.
The remark that Dr Hyman makes that sends my blood pressure rocketing (only joking, I am too caring for my health to let that happen!)is this ‘these doctors were hardly curious and quickly dismissive.’

I have experienced this, as you may well have, and it is infuriating and offensive. It is the height of arrogance, and arrogance is the height of ignorance, and needs to be held to account.

article-1099566-0285039E000005DC-878_468x327When they don’t want to know it is maddening.

The only way to deal with this is to
a. meet it head on and face the doctor with his, or her, own arrogance, with your indignation and contempt.
b. Then find another doctor.

They are not all like this, I am glad to say. When I have had this kind of attitude I simple cannot stay with the doctor long.

Arrogance is an unpleasant syndrome unworthy of doctors. They need to know there is a world outside their paradigm, and it actually heals people. Western medicine is the new kid on the block, Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine have been around for at least 4000 years!

And to actually use the term ‘spontaneous remission,’ is very disarming. It clearly suggests that nothing the patient has done, or not done, all the lifestyle changes they have made, have in no way contributed to this ‘remission,’ because it was just ‘spontaneous.’  It happened by itself for totally unknown reasons. It didn’t happen before though, it happened at EXACTLY THE SAME TIME as the patient made serious lifestyle changes and pursued healing the root cause of they dis-ease.’
Maybe the term should be ‘strangely coincidental spontaneous remission.’

Sometimes science is an ass. Without nature, without humanity, without consideration of the mystery of life, science is a dry box, defensive and arrogant. And even though, as I say again, it is incredible at what it does, there is no denying that, healing chronic disease (and I don’t mean suppressing symptoms) is not something it is good at.

And it will be left behind as a healing modality, unless it climbs down from its pedestal and becomes considerate and compassionate and available.

We could have the best of all worlds if the systems worked together. Divided is old paradigm. Collaboration is the new way. And that collaboration will have to involve a healthy respect for others.

And what it means with regard to your health is that you step up and take responsibility for your health, you speak your truth and only work with health practitioners who respect your choices, decisions and your healing. The system will change when we demand it changes.

My rant is over.

Is Google a Health Resource or a Rabbit Hole of Fear?

Have you used Google search to look up your symptoms?
Have you speculated about what you are suffering from and found Google useful?
Have you looked up health tips?
Foods to eat?
Exercise regimes and tips?

Is-Google-Searching-for-the-Next-Big-Thing1If you answered yes to any or most of these questions you are in good company!
Because the truth is that, even though Google searching is fraught with the potential for wrong information and misdiagnosis, the benefits, at least to this writer and researcher, far outweigh the drawbacks.

Imagine a world without a decent search engine. Imagine it being taken away from us at this point where we have got so used to it. It’s nigh on impossible to imagine. Google is intertwined with our existence, for good and bad, and usually both, and like most of these things, we either make it work for us or it may well work against, or leave us behind.

Make no mistake, it’s almost a certainty that the doctor you go and see in real life, who you depend on for precision diagnosis and ‘absolute authority,’ uses Google. Some don’t, most do. I have witnessed this with my own eyes twice, and at first it shocked me and even made me laugh, but since the second time I remember actually thinking, ‘Why Not?’
What is wrong with my doctor using this extensive resource?

I think we have old paradigm beliefs about the sacrosanct role of the doctor. Somehow we have elevated doctor to the level of wise man, sage, ultimate authority and ‘god.’ Well maybe god is a bit much but you get my point! We expect the doctor to be the font of all knowledge and never have to refer to books or Google. Surely they are supposed to know all?

final_doctor_patient_b

MEDICAL SYSTEM IS THE NEW CHURCH.

But this is quite obviously an illusion and I believe we should cut these doctors some slack and realise they are just the arbiters and representatives of a system called the medical system. While we uphold the medical system as the only system, the ultimate body church we all pray at, and the only answer to this vast issue of illness, we are going to be trapped in the need to elevate the doctor onto a pedestal. And we all know what happens when one is on a pedestal, the only way is down.

What I am saying is lets realise the doctor is fallible, human, and in the dark about many things. I have been let down, disappointed and frustrated as many times as relieved, by my doctor. So much of the time they simply don’t have answers and go through the ‘referring you to a specialist’ stuff. They don’t know about food and diets, they don’t know about how interconnected the mind and emotions are with health, they don’t know about herbs and traditional remedies and, in the UK, only spend 10 short minutes with you anyway.

10 minutes is not enough time to get to grips wth your health or illness. Period.

Unfortunately the doctor is also caught in the elevation of their starring role in your health. many of them are caught up in their own power I am afraid to say. And then if you go to see them and happen to say ‘I have been researching my symptoms on Google and have some ideas,’ you may well get the ‘eye roll’ as I call it. Or they could be downright hostile to you.

DO NOT LET THAT PUT YOU OFF.

Recently I have had a relatively new doctor I have seen for this unbelievable rash I couldn’t get to grips with. I talked to this doctor honestly and openly about preferring natural healing, wanting to take responsibility, and what I have been exploring on Google. I was totally non confrontational and actually asked for his help. Luckily he was open to my ideas and we explored them. Some of them he said ‘Absolutely no way it could be that,’ and other ideas he said, ‘Let’s test and see,’ and so we did.

He reflected my need to be directly involved in my own health investigation. He could see how important it was for me to know what was causing this issue. I didn’t just want medication, in fact I didn’t want meds at all, but I wanted to know.

And he responded to this warmly and encouragingly. That is how change will happen.

Sometimes I think we want the system to change from the outside first, we want the doctors and the medical system to wake up and transform itself. But it has been proved time and time again that systems only change when there is a movement that forces them to change.

Which brings me back to Google. Now I am not suggesting Google is the answer to the problems facing us in illness and health. Google itself will not spark the revolution in health we so badly need.

BUT. Google is empowerment of the patient. Google is information. It is such a valuable resource it has to be included in your toolbox of resources. And the more you use it, diligently and intelligently, the better it gets and the more it reveals.

A couple of tips for using Google:
Take the emotionality out of it. Don’t let it inflame your fear. It can and it will feed fear if you let it. If you are afraid and fearful, don’t use it. Computers and internet tend to amplify our mental and emotional states, believe me I know this for myself. So be warned, and if in doubt do not use!!
Be open to what arrives through Google, and try different phrases and words, scroll down and find alternative sites not just the top ones, particularly the sponsored ones, and use it as an exploration of possibilities, until you get more experienced.
Ask a loved one to help and do it together. It sounds like weird fun but actually it engages you both in a kind of detective mission.

THE EMPOWERED AND INFORMED PATIENT OF THE FUTURE.

Consider this. You are, in the long term, changing your relationship to this holy ‘doctor’ idea. In the longterm it is you who are going to be at the centre of your health and wellbeing. With radical new testing gadgets and apps coming on line and usable at home, and with so many alternative possibilities available for healing illness, the future is all about change. And that makes the doctor a vital part of your health team, but only a part, not the whole thing.

And Google, or other search engines if you prefer, is going to be a very useful and necessary part of your research and responsibility.

But you are going to be at the centre of it. It is a vital part of the change. When we say, and this quote is so often used, ‘Be the change you want to see in the world,’ we need to include our personal care responsibility with every other thing we do. An informed and insightful, a wise and intelligent patient is one who will take preventative action as well as remedial.

There is a revolution taking place this century, and informed and engaged patients are at the centre of it. It is very exciting.

New Podcast! The Spiritual Imperative and Healing the Individual and Global Body.

I am so very pleased to let you know about a new Podcast!

Finally I have jumped in again and recorded an impromptu session.
I think it is my most important one so far.
Because it gets to the heart of the human dilemma on all levels.

I enjoyed it thoroughly and hope it brings some inspiration to some.
This is the vibe.
024 – The Spiritual Imperative and Healing the Individual and Global Body.
Spiritual Inquiry as an imperative in today’s world, both for personal life and for collective life.
A true spiritual context is the only answer to the problems of the world, both personal and collective.
A discussion about grief, the past, letting go, presence and unconditional love.
33 mins: Presence Medicine
What is it? And how does it work?
You ARE the world. A cell in the global body.
You have infinite power, the power of infinite intelligence, available all the time.
In presence and openness you invite this infinite intelligence in, which facilitates personal and collective healing.
Body, emotion and mind are designed according to nature, to flow from spirit into matter and back to spirit. Old toxic emotions block this flow, and our task through spiritual inquiry is to unblock what was stuck through simple allowing, so that free flowing can return.
A spiritual invitation from the body.
On iTunes soon.

Please please listen and enjoy. Take what is relevant and throw away what doesn’t resonate.

And share if you are moved! I am trying to spread the message that some people badly need.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and listen.

Presence Medicine – An approach to healing

The simple power of presence brings you into a new dimension of peace. There is vast power in this dimension even to the point of healing.

I offer sessions in ‘Presence Medicine,’ to assist you in entering and establishing yourself in this dimension.

Kavi Portrait 4Being present isn’t just some spiritual exercise, it is a very practical approach to illness and healing.
It is an excellent restorative tool for the whole being, including the body. It has beneficial effects.
To be acutely here and now, totally present to whatever is happening, is great healing balm.
The fact is that we humans have lots of stories we tell ourselves and each other.
We have incredibly active, overactive, mind chatter. It is incessant and unstoppable.
We give this chatter so much weight and import that it runs our lives.
But it is not always the best thing, and not always operating in our favour.
The story of your life is the story of your identification with your ego mind. Presence is a space that is beyond the story of the past or future.

“You cannot be both unhappy and fully present in the Now” –Eckhart Tolle

There is an energy field beyond this chatter. That energy field may be called many things, yet they are all the same thing:
Consciousness, the Divine, Infinite Intelligence, or the ‘Love Field’ as I call it.

Entering this field is the pursuit of meditation and simple ’silent sitting.’ It is also our aim.

What the the benefits of this?
Presence is that state where natural order is restored.
Presence burns up past toxic emotions, thoughts and beliefs.
• It burns up old karmic inherited patterns.
• It burns up self negating patterns.
• It disarms addictions.
• It dissolves holding patterns in the body, liberating better energy flow.
• It ends stagnation.
• It sends healing vibrations to the cellular body.
• When accompanied by breath it floods the body with oxygen.
• It transmits and aligns with the frequency of love.
• It unifies the energy field of the body with the cosmos.
• It tunes you into the quantum field.
• It quietens the noise of the ego self, allowing higher mind to inform your life.
• It balances the hemispheres of the brain.
• It opens the intuitive and creative feminine side of the brain.
• It deactivates the chronic cortisol response that drives most lives, and is always present in illness.
• It floods the body, nervous and immune systems, with positivity and love.
• It removes the vibration of fear from the organism.
• It aligns chakras.
• It facilitates regeneration.
• It allows falseness to rise to the surface for clearing.
• It re-harmonises the mind/body relationship that is so often out of balance.

This is the key point about presence and illness. Illness is taxing and stressing to the whole organism. Illness is also highly intertwined with emotions and mind. It is entirely natural, when the body suffers from unusual and painful, life interrupting symptoms, to worry and be concerned. But there is a fine line between healthy concern that drives positive action, and the kind of anxious worry that makes matters worse by stressing the adrenal glands, over burdening immune and nervous system, and bringing the system down lower. Body and mind are hardwired together.

Through ‘Presence Medicine’ practices and awareness this cycle of fear, stress anxiety and taxed body is placated and stopped, allowing deep rest and healing to happen.
Sometimes it means a mental a nd emotional detox. But this itself is an asset in the ling term.

BREATHING:
The power of the breath is indisputable. It is one of the most neglected areas of life, whether we are ill or not. Yet we suffer in so many ways by neglecting it.
You simply cannot fully breathe and have lots of stories of past or future at the same time. One or the other. And healing is only found in the breathing.

Try sitting silently and focus on your breathing, slowly inhaling all the way, and exhaling all the way. Be focused on this activity and be aware that your mind has moments of stillness and silence. So occupied with this simple act of conscious breathing is it that it is, for at least a few precious moments, peaceful.

It will not be long before the mind becomes distracted and drifts away to thinking about something completely unrelated to your activity.
This simple activity should be done daily, constantly, as a valuable training for the mind and the body. It harmonises them and heals them. It calms the holistic organism, softens the nervous system and immune system.

MEDITATION: Meditation gets bad rap.  Most people think it is hard, and that puts them off.  It has to be said that most meditation practice makes it complicated when it doesn’t need to be. If there is any struggling, trying, control or resistance in meditation it fails to deliver any of the benefits it offers.

The meditation I have practiced, still practice, and talk about, is very simple. It is the ‘nothing meditation’ that is only about one thing. That thing is just sitting silently letting everything that happens, happen, without offering any resistance or argument, without trying to control any thought or emotion.

Just silently sitting, quietly,  in awareness, softly breathing in and out and allowing it all. Thoughts might come and thoughts may go, but attach to none of them, allowing all thoughts with the same grace. Even 5 minutes spent in this way is nourishing for the whole of your being, from the cellular body to the emotions and mind.
Nothing to do, nowhere to go, nothing to stop or start, and just a resting in allowance of all that arises.

SESSIONS; Sessions involve exploration, inquiry, silence and presence. There is no ‘format’ but a simple dedication to going below the level of thinking mind to the space of stillness. We will be guided by what occurs and what comes up, and through this you will access a deeper mastery of self and a more profound sense of peace and love. This is the healing space itself.

Spirit – Mind – Breath – Body: The Divine Connection.

tech_breathworkYesterday evening I had a rebirth session as part of my striving for healing after my recent ‘rash incident.’ I haven’t done a rebirth session for years so expected difficulty and struggle (a common experience is these profound sessions). But nothing happened! It was effortless and easy, and flowed like a divine river.

But I did get an insight into the power of the mind to influence the body systems, and the power of the breath to release us from unconscious patterns and grievances that may be hanging around in the energy body.

So I decided to write you a new blog to inspire you to ‘get with the breath.’

Breath is neglected, taken for granted, and certainly not considered relevant to healing illness.
Breath – It is the first thing you do when you arrive in this reality.
Breath – It is the last thing you do as you leave.
You are born on a breath and you die on a breath. If you stop breathing death approaches quickly:
After 1 minute of not breathing brain cells begin to die.
After 3 minutes serious brain damage can occur.
It is the first thing to stop in a moment of panic.
Most people are not breathing to their full capacity.

If you can master your breath you open the door to miracles.
If you deny access to breath you will starve yourself of the divine.

You see breathing reflects where we are at. It connects the body with the emotions, with the mind’s beliefs, and with spirit. It really is a bridge between the mundane and the divine. It may not appear like that right now, but I guarantee if you were to explore it in a rebirth session or similar, you would see.
Breath is one of the mysteries of life. It is paradoxical in its nature, on one hand its the most normal thing of all and we all do it without thinking about it, but on the other hand when we bring our conscious awareness to it, it is miraculous and incredibly powerful. And incredibly healing.

It should be included in everybody’s healing tool bag.

Many years ago I was a different person indeed. I was tight in my emotions and my body was a mess. Thats one of the reasons I got so ill, there was so much stored up in my body, both physical ‘stuff’ and emotional ‘stuff.’ The illness arrived in my life as a signal to deal with all this stuff. And I did. Bodywork was a key liberator of energy for me. I have cried and cried during many body work sessions. I don’t mind telling you it took a lot of work to release my emotions, they were very stuck and very hidden. When they came it was a tidal wave of trauma, grief, anger and pain.
But it was so necessary to release it, because agree flowing body is more likely to create health and wellbeing. You just cant be truly well if there is stuff trapped in your body. And by stuff I mean the past.

What?

Yes, the past gets trapped in the body during traumatic episodes in our childhood and youth that we couldn’t deal with or accept.

And it stays there influencing our lives until an opportunity comes to release it. We are not meant to carry traumas, but they get lodged and stuck, and the only way to release is through consciously attending to them.

Bodywork is fantastic for this.
And rebirthing is excellent for this.

It wasn’t until I did a series of 10 rebirth sessions with my wife (who was a trained rebirther) that I experienced the full release of all stuff from my body.
When I began those sessions I was a classic newbie to the process, and I suffered all the afflictions that come when there is such stuckness. The hands and fingers curl up and spasm in something called tetany. There is incredible sweating and heat, as well as incredible cold and chills. But most of all there is, at times, a total absence and lapse into an unconscious state. In this state the breath stops in mid air, and ‘nothing happens.’ Its almost funny because its kind of like being in suspended animation. You fly off into a different world, like a dream. And this can happen quite quickly into a session, or whenever. The rebirther might coax you out of it gently, and sometimes just a hand on the chest will bring you back again, but they may leave you to just get on with it.
That ‘absence’ itself is part of the healing process. It really is quite fascinating.
Ultimately there is no right way of doing the rebirth session, and everyone carries their stuff uniquely, but there is an aim. The aim is to be so consciously soft with the breath coming and going that nothing really happens, just an awareness of the whole process, and a sense of something beautiful.
It took me all of my 10 sessions to get anywhere near that!

But I am persistent and I don’t give up.

And one session towards the end of the 10 it kind of happened. The breath just came in and went out, like the waves of the ocean. I fell into a divine state and became overwhelmed by the simple beauty of existence itself. It was so deeply profoundly simple that I cried and laughed at the same time, as awareness saw the whole universe as awake, and it was pouring through me. I truly felt the phrase ‘Breath is God,’ said by Hazrat Inayat Khan.

But this time, last night, it was just normal. It was easy and relaxed, but no flashing lights of illumination or cosmic insight. Just being here now.

This remarkable process absolutely contributes to well being and health, for all the reasons I have stated.
Here is a link to again to the Hazrat Khan piece about the power of breath. Enjoy, dive in, find a great rebirther and get breathing! https://wahiduddin.net/mv2/VII/VII_19.htm
